EXCHANGE ABOUT THE AUTHORS Lynn E. McClurg served as associate dean of BYU’s College of Physical and Mathematical Sciences before assuming his current post as assistant administrative vice-president for Information Systems. Prior to coming to BYU, he specialized in industrial logistics for the U.S. Air Force, retiring with the rank of Lt. Colonel. Dr. McClurg joined the School of Management’s information management faculty as an associate professor in 1983. He holds a BGE degree from the University of Nebraska, an M.S. in systems management from the University of Southern California, and an Ed.D. in administration of higher education from BYU. He was the 1980 recipient of BYU’s Ben E. Lewis Award for Excellence in Management. William M. Timmins is a professor of personnel administration and labor/management relations in the Institute of Public Management and Health Administration at BYU. He earned B.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Utah and an M.A. from Harvard University. Dr. Timmins is a prolific writer with scores of articles published in various professional journals and magazines. He serves as a consultant to numerous organizations, most often in labor relations and personnel matters. Brent D. Wilson joined the School of Management faculty in 1982 following five years of teaching at the Darden Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of Virginia. Wilson received his DBA from Harvard University, an MBA from Northwestern University, and a B.A. from Weber State College. He worked for Ford Motor Company and has taught at Simmons College and Boston University. His professional interests are in the areas of corporate and international finance and international banking. He has written several articles and coauthored a text, Corporate Financial Analysis. Paul R. Timm teaches communication courses in the MBA program and is a member of the information management faculty. He earned his B.A. degree at the State University of New York at Buffalo, an M.A. at Ohio University and, after seven years corporate experience with Bell Telephone and Xerox, returned to school for a Ph.D. at Florida State University. Timm serves as the editor of Exchange magazine and has published widely in professional journals and magazines. He has authored six books in management communication, human relations and supervision. Four of these books have gone to second editions. He also served as assistant dean in the School of Management from 1981 to 1983.
